The Idaho NRA defensive pistol course covers the knowledge, skills, and the attitude needed to carry and use a concealed pistol. The course also covers pistol use in an ethically and responsible manner, and with complete and total confidence.
The Idaho NRA defensive pistol course is a 3 hour session designed specifically for the techniques that are ultimately needed to develop a defensive mindset. Of course, the goal of the Idaho NRA defensive pistol course is to develop knowledge, skills, and the necessary attitude to carry and use a concealed pistol in an ethically, responsible manner, with complete and total confidence. Students who participate in this course will be able to explain, identify, and demonstrate how to apply NRA rules for safe gun handling when in the process of carrying a concealed weapon. They will also be able to demonstrate principles of concealment, any differences between cover and concealment, mental awareness, drawing from holster, and the right mindset required for utilizing a pistol for personal protection, clearing stoppages and other malfunctions. Participants will also cover information from the NRA guide to personal protection outside the home, NRA gun safety rules, and receive an NRA defensive pistol certificate upon successful completion of the course.
